Billy Forshaw was born in Liverpool, and brought up in Bootle. After two years national service in Hong Kong he returned to the UK and had a successful, long career in teaching mathematics and coaching athletics. His strong family roots remain estblished in Bootle, Waterloo, Kirkdale and Walton.
